Shalene Roberts
Shalene is an American girl through and through, though she often likes to enlighten others on the origin of her name, which harkens back to her family’s roots in Sweden. A former magazine editor for two national home design publications, she resigned from her editor’s desk several years ago to pursue a book project and a little freelance writing à la carte. Much to her surprise, she and her husband discovered they were expecting their first child just two short weeks following her resignation. Thus, Shalene promptly put her book project on hold as she readied herself for her foray into full-time mommyhood.

Now as mom to two-year-old toddler, Trey, and wife to tall and handsome, Bruce, Shalene maintains a handful of freelance clients and regularly indulges her penchant for all things domestic. She loves nesting--especially interior design, cooking and her humble attempts at sewing--as well as photography, a good cup of coffee or wine and time spent sharing one of the latter with friends. A recent convert to the organic lifestyle, she enjoys perusing farmer’s markets and making meager efforts at cultivating her own container herb and vegetable garden. She is currently in the process of crafting charming wares for her soon-to-be-opened Etsy shop and is scrambling to design her professional web site, www.ShaleneRoberts.com. She can often be found toting Trey to the zoo, the museum or one of his many activities, teaching women in a small-group Bible study or sneaking in a run when time allows. A loyal TCU alumna, Shalene resides in Fort Worth, Texas beneath the big blue sky of the Lonestar state.
